A minute with the Butler
This 'Minute with' we chat with Senior Butler Freddy Boakye to find our his best spots, mind blowing plates, greatest clubs and more.
Best spot you’ve hit lately?
"It might be an oldie, but it is a goldie - Bocca Di Lupo. The atmosphere’s great and sitting at the counter watching the brigade pore over every last detail before it gets to the pass is something to see. Their tapas sharing plates are out of this world and the mains are some of my favourite in London. And here’s an added insider tip – they have their own gelato shop across the street. Un.Real."
The last thing you ate and where that blew your mind?
"Burrata, smoked tomato & chilli pesto venison pappardelle – Upstairs at The Department Store in Brixton."
Best member’s club to arrive to – at midnight?
"While its off the beaten track - Upstairs at The Department Store is great. Its located on the top floor of an old department store – hence the name. It kind of reminds me of a New York open plan loft apartment, split into sections with a bar, seating area, drink den, restaurant and two private rooms with an awesome terrace. With views over Brixton, it's hard to beat."
Best place for a coffee?
"New to Outernet and the Soho neighbourhood – Blank Street serves up a mean Orange Mocha – that is to die for."
Your favourite cocktails and where to drink them?
"You might get the sense that I love my oldies – and that I do, so I have to say The Espresso Martini at Cafe Boheme. Its so good for casual drinks or dining – terrace spills into Soho and of course it is epic for people watching. Because you never know what you’ll see in Soho."
