The terms and conditions below pertain to all bookings made through Chateau Denmark’s website chateaudenmark.com or via telephone. If you make your reservation via a travel agent, or other third party, then you have a separate legal relationship with that party and Chateau Denmark has no liability for any acts or omissions of such party including their observance of your data protection rights.
1. Definitions

2. Contractual Terms
By booking using our website, telephone or direct the guest or booker enters into a legal binding contract which comes into force once we have accepted your booking and issued you an email or other form of communication confirming the acceptance of the booking. In other words a booking confirmation.
3. Rates & Payments
Chateau Denmark adopts dynamic pricing and the price of our rooms fluctuates based on demand. When you make a reservation request, we’ll give you a total price for the rooms and number of nights you’ve requested. The price you pay is the price quoted to you at the time you make your reservation. Upon making the booking, you will be asked for a valid debit or credit card to confirm the reservation. Booker must be 18 years of age or over. Room prices are per room, per night and are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate at the time of your reservation. Chateau Denmark offers a discretionary accommodation service charge at 5% on the total room rate. Please note that any and all selections made prior to arrival from The Rider menu will be chargeable upon departure.
Chateau Denmark will require a pre-authorisation on your credit card on arrival to cover the estimated incidental amount based on the size of your maxi-bar. This pre-authorisation is not a charge, but the issuing bank will reserve that amount from the balance which is available for use on that card. By making a reservation with us, you agree to be liable for all the charges that the indicated person has agreed to be responsible for, if the indicated person fails to pay such charges. If you choose to pay the charges by another means, your credit card company will usually release the amount pre-authorised back to your card after a period of 7 working days (note that longer periods can apply for non-UK issued cards). If you are a business customer, you confirm that you have authority to bind any business on whose behalf you are making reservations with us.
Payment may be made by cash in the local currency, credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express), or accepted Vouchers. The expiry date of your debit/credit card must be later than the end of your stay. We do not accept personal cheques.
Pre-payment for your Booking and your incidentals will be taken when you check in at Chateau Denmark. A refund will be given in respect of incidentals paid for, but not used or taken up at the time you check out.
Chateau Denmark requires you to provide photographic identification during check-in. If you are a Non-UK residents a valid passport will be requested, while UK residents can present either a valid passport or a full UK driving licence.
4. Pricing Error
On the rare occasion that a Pricing Error occurs and we cannot accept Your reservation, even after we have issued a booking confirmation, we will notify you as soon as we reasonably can and refund the amount paid by you in full without any liability for this error or omission. You agree that we will not be liable for any additional expenses you may incur as a result of the error or omission.
5. Exchange Rate
All rates quoted on our Website or otherwise and confirmed in non-UK Sterling will be converted to the UK Sterling by Chateau Denmark at the time of payment, based on the then current exchange rate. The same exchange rate will be used if a refund in respect of incidentals is required when you check out of Chateau Denmark.
6. Cancellation
Bookings can only be cancelled by our reservations team through telephone or email and cancellation requests must be received in writing by 12pm (GMT London Time) in accordance with cancellations terms.
If you book a Fully Flexible rate for stays 1-6nights , you will be able to amend or cancel your reservation up to 12pm (GMT London Time) on the day prior to arrival without charge. Your card will be charged the total price upon arrival or upon departure.
If you cancel your reservation after 12pm (GMT London Time) day prior from the arrival day (or make a reservation on your arrival day and subsequently cancel it), and have not already paid for the room in advance, you will be charged a cancellation charge equivalent to the entire length of booked stay.
If you book a Fully Flexible rate for stays 7nights or more , you will be able to amend or cancel your reservation up to 12pm (GMT London Time) 3 days prior to the day of arrival without charge. Your card will be charged the total price upon arrival or upon departure.
If you cancel your reservation after 12pm (GMT London Time) 3 days prior to the arrival, and have not already paid for the room in advance, you will be charged a cancellation charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation for each room booked.
Cancellations or amendments are not permitted to Advanced Purchase rate such as Book Now, Pay Now and where stated on other rate types.
7. Group Bookings
Group bookings are considered anything from 5 rooms or more and feature a different cancellation policy. For group bookings please contact our Reservations department at reservations@chateaudenmark.com
8. Events Outside of our Control
Should an event beyond our reasonable control take place and unused days occur due to our ending your occupancy, we shall not be liable for refund or payment. This shall include without limitation government intervention, wars, civil commotion, fire, flood, accident, storm, strikes, terrorist attacks and health risks. In the events you cancel your booking or depart early due such an uncontrollable event affecting you rather than Chateau Denmark, you will not be entitled you to a refund.
9. Occupancy
You agree to not exceed the maximum occupancy of your room or suite, as notified to you, unless otherwise agreed by us. We reserve the right to change your room allocation at any point during your stay for any reason.
10. Behaviour & Conduct
Disrespectfulness, rudeness, distastefulness and general negative behaviour shown towards our team will not be tolerated at any time. We reserve the right to cancel a booking and remove such a guest from the premises should management deem them to contradict the above behaviour – with no refunds being made for received payments. Guests will not conduct business where the sole transaction is based on reselling or subletting the room itself. We also expect our guests to respect other guests, the community and the wider neighbourhood.
11. Damage
Guests will be charged for any damage caused by themselves at Chateau Denmark, and billed for any additional cleaning required / replacement.
12. Smoking
Smoking is not permitted within the internal areas of Chateau Denmark in accordance with current legislation. If a guest should choose to ignore this notice and the room or apartment is uninhabitable the next day, we will charge one night’s additional accommodation.
13. Pets
If you or any other Occupant of the Apartment wish to bring any animals or pets into the property or Apartment, then you must first apply for permission and obtain prior written approval from us, and this will be in accordance with our Pet Policy Terms & Conditions. To obtain a copy (in advance) of the Pet Policy Terms & Conditions, please contact a member of the Chateau team. A copy will also be made available to you at the time of booking.
14. This Website
Chateau Denmark’s website is only for people aged 18 and over, those aged below 18 may not stay unaccompanied by an adult.
15. Contacting Each Other
In the event we need to contact you in writing, we will use the address you provided at time of booking. Should you wish to contact us in writing the address is Chateau Denmark, Denmark Place, London, WC2H 0LA.
16. Exclusion and limitation of liability
16.1 Nothing in these Conditions will exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (including that of our employees, agents or sub-contractors) or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
16.2 We shall only be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you which is reasonably foreseeable and a direct consequence of a breach by us of these Conditions. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or negligence or if it is contemplated by you and us when our contract with you is created. In the event that any loss or damage suffered by you relates to your business activities then we exclude all liability for any business loss and in particular we exclude all liability for loss of profits or other economic loss arising out of a breach of this contract.
16.3 We also exclude liability for the loss by you of any items or personal articles in the Hotel. Should you wish for any item to be received or helped by Chateau Denmark prior to arrival or following departure, advance notice will be required. Chateau Denmark retains the right to deny receipt of such items. The sender will bear any costs incurred for the return. All items are left at the owner’s risk and may be subject to search. Please note that should an item be locked or sealed, it is the responsibility of the owner of the item to facilitate access. Chateau Denmark is not liable for any flood, fire or damage to the items.
16.4 Our liability to you for any loss or damage that you may suffer as a result of our breach of these Conditions or as a result of our negligence shall not exceed the price paid by you in respect of your booking at Chateau Denmark in any event
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Conditions, any contract between us and the relationship between you and us (whether contractual or otherwise) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute or claim arising out of these Conditions, any contract between us and relationship between us shall be settled by the courts of England and Wales.
